Kaafu Atoll – Dhiffushi Island

Dhiffushi is a beautiful inhabited island in Kaafu Atoll, located about 36.6 km northeast of Malé, the capital of the Maldives, and just 8 km north of Thulusdhoo. The island is small and peaceful, measuring around 950 m x 200 m, with a local population of approximately 1,200 people. Life here is a mix of traditional fishing and growing tourism, as more locals are now involved in guesthouses and excursion activities. Dhiffushi is also known as one of the first sunrise islands in the Maldives, offering beautiful morning views. The island has a simple local lifestyle with small shops and grocery stores for daily needs, three designated bikini beaches for tourists, and a modest dress code in local areas out of respect for the community.
